A Subtitle State of Mind; Make Plans Now for the Cleveland Interntional Film Festival

Clear your schedule and get geared up for plenty of movie magic. The 43rd Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF) is set for March 27-April 7 at Tower City Cinemas and neighborhood locations. This year, Northeast Ohio Boomer and Beyond magazine is a proud media partner. Watch our website, northeastohioboomer.com, in the coming weeks and look for more details in our March/April issue.

The festival will kick off with an Opening Night Film and Reception on Wednesday, March 27, at the historic Connor Palace Theatre in Playhouse Square. Following Opening Night, more than 500 screenings will be exhibited in 10 theaters at CIFF’s Tower City Cinemas hub from 9 a.m.-midnight (and even later on weekends), as well as other neighborhood locations, for the next 11 days.

This much-anticipated cultural experience will showcase 200+ feature films and 200+ short films. It will host over 300 guest filmmakers from throughout the country and around the world. The festival will conclude on April 7 with its Closing Night program, which drew 2,000 people to the Skylight Concourse of Tower City Center (with an additional 9,145 joining via live stream) for CIFF42. The CIFF will give out approximately 30 awards and more than $125,000 in cash prizes to CIFF43 filmmakers.

Program details for CIFF43 will be announced at clevelandfilm.org in early March, with program guides hitting the streets beginning Monday, March 4. Tickets will go on sale to CIFF members on Friday, March 8,  and to the general public on Friday, March 15.
