University Circle Unveils Its New Uptown Summer Series – And It Sounds Like a Lot of Fun

 University Circle Inc. and Case Western Reserve University have a full schedule of new, exciting, and free summer activities in University Circle’s Uptown District.

Enjoy live music from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., followed by panel discussions on entertaining and informative science topics from Case Western Reserve University’s Institute for the Science of Origins from 1:00-2:00 p.m.

Shape Up Sundays
Outdoor fitness classes & recess games
Sundays, through September 9, 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Toby’s Plaza | Free
Try something new and have fun with your workout. Start your Sunday with an outdoor silent yoga class at 11:00 a.m. with 121 Fitness, followed at Noon with either Bootcamp with Orangetheory Fitness or Silent-Headphone Zumba with 121 Fitness. A limited supply of wireless, noise-canceling Bluetooth headphones will be supplied to attendees on a first come, first served basis.
Bring the whole family for recess-style games with Recess Cleveland from 1:30-4:00 p.m. Play kickball, capture the flag, zorb games, tug of war, and more. No registration is required, and participants can meet up on Toby’s Plaza.

All events listed below take place on Toby’s Plaza, located at the southeast corner of Mayfield Road and Euclid Avenue. They are free and open to the public. Weather permitting.
CreativeMornings
Friday, July 20 | 8:30 a.m.
CreativeMornings is a monthly breakfast lecture series. In celebration of FRONT INTERNATIONAL: CLEVELAND TRIENNIAL FOR CONTEMPORARY ART, the July edition of CreativeMornings will be hosted under the Judy’s Hand Pavilion on Toby’s Plaza. Registration is required at creativemornings.com/cities/cle.
Cause & Effect Festival
Saturday, July 21 | Noon-5:00 p.m.
Be a part of the change you’d like to see in this world. Meet with Cleveland’s nonprofits and activist organizations and learn more about the work they’re doing in the community and how you can help. This event, which features live music and hands-on activities, is the official after-party of the March for Science.
Hand-Off: Celebration of CLE Visual Artists + Art Swap
Saturday, August 18 | Noon-5:00 p.m.
Hosted in partnership with MOCA Cleveland, Hand-Off is a day-long celebration of Cleveland’s visual art community. Guests will enjoy an outdoor exhibition and walk, along with hands-on activities and an art exchange. This is a curated event with artists to be announced soon.
Dinner with Strangers
Friday, August 31 | 7:00 p.m.
Mix, mingle and meet new friends. Dinner with Strangers is a complimentary three-course, al fresco, and casual networking dinner, featuring food from some of Uptown’s restaurants. Space is limited, and advance registration is required.
End of Summer Party
Saturday, September 8 | Noon-11:00 p.m.
Join an end-of-summer party at Toby’s Plaza, featuring live music, games, summertime activities, and outdoor movies. Plus, enjoy First Free Saturday at MOCA Cleveland from11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
